And Even My First Bra
Note from Sarah: It feels fitting that my very first post on this site is also the very first entry I ever wrote in a bone fide journal. I was nine years old.

"Today is Christmas Day, and boy is it great! I got a camera (and even my first bra!) a magic "8" ball. etc. I'm going to have to call every body this afternoon (this is Sunday) and tell them my news.
We have 8 more days of Christmas vacation."
"This morning, I was awake about 6:30 in the morning and just could not get back to sleep. I asked mom if we could go down stairs yet but no! we had to wait until 7:45 so here I was lying in bed wandering when it would be time."

Note from Sarah: This is such a short entry! I love that I am excited to tell "every body" about getting my first bra. When I opened it, I screamed a little, covered it back up and ran out of the room. In retrospect it seems a little weird that my first bra would be wrapped as a present. I wonder if it was something that I'd asked for as a gift.
I think it's hilarious that one of the most important things I feel I need to mention is when I woke up. That's such a kid thing, right? You get up early and are ready to go for the celebration, but of course the adults aren't. Now that I'm a parent I totally get this even more. In our house, we usually have the kids wait until at least 7:30am before anyone can go towards the presents.
