The Hosts are Dissecting People

Regarding the weird stuff I watch while babysitting late at night. This entry covers a lot of stuff, from satellite TV, middle school awards, the mile run (again), and how I plan to get my first 4.0 GPA.

Back in the 90's, there was a ton of weird stuff on TV. I didn't really get to watch it at home, but when I babysat late at night I got to watch all sorts of shows, like this show called The Strange Movies, which apparently was a show about making movies in China. This is all according to my journal entry for today, by the way. A Google search for that exact title came up with ZERO results. Seriously. Google had no idea what I was talking about.

I'm glad I took my journal with me to my babysitting gig, because I had a lot of time on my hands to write. I continue the entry the next day while I'm on my way to an Amy Grant concert in Ames, Iowa! (Side note, my first concert ever was in 1987 when my parents took me to hear The Monkees, who were opening for Weird Al Yankovic in Omaha, Nebraska!)

Hi! Sarah here. Thank you for stopping by and reading this post! That Was Rad is a reader-supported publication. If you're able, I would be grateful for your support, which will help make sure there's always a free version for anyone who wants some fun 80s and 90s nostalgia.

Support That Was Rad

I bop around a lot in this entry, from complaining about my eyes burning at my babysitting job, to all these awards I got in middle school, to the mile run in gym class. I'm a little embarrassed about how I brag about the awards. I considered not showing that part to you, but in the end I decided to leave it in, cringy as it is. I suppose if there's anywhere to share all that, it's my journal, right?

This entry is a bit longer, so I'll get to it. Enjoy!

Wow, you made it to the end! That's no small feat with a nine-page journal entry. For today's journal prompt, I'd love to hear what kind of student you were. Did you like school? What kind of school did you go to? Sign in and let me know!

You're so rad,
Sarah
