Tomorrow I Will Get to Read My Year!

Today's entry is from December 30, 1991, and I am almost finished with my very first full journal. I want so badly to have it done by the end of the year so I can start a new book. The video reveals whether or not I actually do get it fully finished!

Enjoy a live read-aloud of today's entry

Please check out the above video for a fun read-aloud of today's entry and commentary. In the entry I take inspiration from my second mom who told me that she always named her journals. I speculate on names, and then decide that since I write in the present, but that the entries will soon become the past, that I will call this journal.....From Present to Past. Slightly dramatic, I'll give my 12-year-old self that, but it also makes sense!

Did you ever name your journals? If so, what were some titles? Do you still have your journals? I was talking with a friend the other day who shared that she didn't want to keep her journals - I totally get that. Sometimes a journal's purpose is to get the feelings out and then they should be left there. Even at this early stage of my journal writing, there's a sense that I'm writing to someone or for someone. Maybe it's you! Maybe I just figured that with a big family there was no way I could count on my diary being private.
